Leberschrumpfung (Leberzirrhose)

Zur Prävention der Leberzirrhose (Leberschrumpfung) muss auf eine Reduktion individueller Risikofaktoren geachtet werden.

Verhaltensbedingte Risikofaktoren

  • Genussmittelkonsum
    • Alkohol – (Frau: > 40 g/Tag; Mann: > 60 g/Tag)
    • Tabak (Rauchen, Passivrauchen) – Rauchen fördert die Fibrosierung der Leber bei Vorliegen einer Leberzirrhose
  • Drogenkonsum
    • Ecstasy (auch XTC u. a.) – Sammelbezeichnung für eine Vielzahl von Phenylethylaminen
    • Kokain

  • Anabolika (anabole Steroide)

Präventionsfaktoren (Schutzfaktoren)

  • Genetische Belastung
    • Gene/SNPs (Einzelnukleotid-Polymorphismus; engl.: single nucleotide polymorphism):
      • Gen: HSD17B13
        • SNP: rs72613567 im Gen HSD17B13
          • Allel-Konstellation: AA (73 % geringeres Risiko für eine alkoholische Zirrhose; 49 % für eine nichtalkoholische Zirrhose) [4]
          • Allel-Konstellation: AT (42 % geringeres Risiko für eine alkoholische Zirrhose; 26 % für eine nichtalkoholische Zirrhose[4]
  • Kaffeekonsum
    • Studien zeigen, dass ein täglicher Kaffeekonsum von zwei oder mehr Tassen die Mortalität (Sterblichkeit) an einer nicht-virusbedingten Leberzirrhose senkt [1]. Forscher führen diesen protektiven (schützenden) Effekt auf die im Kaffee enthaltenen bioaktiven Substanzen zurück [2].
    • Auch das Risiko, an einer Leberzirrhose zu erkranken, kann durch den täglichen Genuss von zwei Tassen Kaffee um die Hälfte gemindert werden. Ähnliches wurde auch für die alkoholbedingte Leberzirrhose beobachtet [3].
